Often voted one of North America’s best ski resorts, Palisades Tahoe is known for its world-class terrain, vibrant ski culture, and Olympic heritage as host of the 1960 Winter Games.       With progressive terrain for every ability and a vast 3,600 skiable acres, Palisades is home to everything from mountain-top beginner slopes with views of Lake Tahoe to plunging chutes and wide-open bowls that have bred Olympic champions and ski movie stars.       Jaw-dropping scenery

      When you drive into Palisades, it’s impossible not to be stunned by the view of Tram Face, the imposing rock cliff below the Aerial Tram, and the jagged snow-covered peaks that shoot up in every direction. Higher on the mountain, a sparkling Lake Tahoe splays out before you, a view Mark Twain once described as “the fairest picture the whole earth affords.”

      The Spring Skiing Capital

      Thanks to plentiful snowfall that lasts sometimes well into summer and a spirited spring vibe, Palisades Tahoe has become an epicenter for spring skiing and riding with the longest season in Tahoe.       Terrain

      With over 100 trails, you’ll find terrain for everyone at Alpine, from impeccable top-to-bottom groomers to gentle, beginner-friendly slopes. The most treasured terrain at Alpine? Its hike-to back bowls, covert spots like Beaver Bowl, Estelle Bowl, and Grouse Ridge. We promise you it’s worth the effort it takes to get there.

      The Lodge

      Stepping into the newly renovated Alpine Lodge feels like coming home. There’s a crackling fireplace, cozy benches to sip a coffee or hot chocolate with friends, and massive windows that look out over the snow-covered slopes. This inviting, family-friendly lodge is easily accessible from the parking lot, has everything you need under one roof, and the lifts are just steps away.

      Signature Events

      Winter and springtime events at Alpine bring much-loved energy to the mountain. Favorite events include the annual Alpine Snow Golf Tournament, the Retro Après Ski Party hosted by none other than Olympic champion Jonny Moseley, and springtime live music on the sun-soaked deck.

      On-Mountain Dining

      If charming mid-mountain dining is what you’re after, Alpine has that covered. Pull into the Chalet, an Alps-inspired cabin near the base of Scott Chair, for a mid-morning cinnamon bun by the fireplace or a late-afternoon panini and beer on the deck. For other options, don’t miss the Ice Bar, at Sherwood Chair on the backside, for snacks and beverages from a ski-up window, or the Mogrog Cafe for European fare at the bottom of Subway Chair.

      Views of Lake Tahoe

      Need proof that Alpine has some of the best views of Lake Tahoe around? There’s a chairlift named Lakeview Chair—and it delivers on its name. You can catch panoramic sights of the lake from many vantage points around the mountain. Some of our favorite photo-worthy spots: The view from the top of Summit Express or from the groomed cattrack atop Art’s Knob, accessed via Sherwood Chair or Treeline Cirque.
