Once you have received your link, use the "PRO TIP: FIND THIS PROGRAM ON THE ONLINE STORE" section in each of the program guides below to confirm the registration category and product names to look for when completing your registration.
  2. All new athletes must complete the New Athlete Application before registration. Review the available pathways to find the best fit for your family, then apply to join.
  3. We recommend completing registration on a desktop, laptop, or computer rather than a mobile phone when possible.

    • U12 Competitive Race Teams

      The U12 Competitive teams focus on advanced to elite alpine racing skill development including athletic and personal growth. Athletes must have a Team Manager recommendation and meet the commitment, athletic skills, and psychological maturity requirements to participate in this program. This is a competitive team which requires commitment as measured by quality time spent on snow.

      Ages 10-11 by December 31st of the winter season

      Participation in a minimum of two (2) sessions per week is expected. Athletes who plan to pursue competitive racing in the future are strongly encouraged to include at least one (1+) midweek session, for a total of approximately 45–60 on-snow sessions during the winter season. A “session” equals 3 to 4 hours of on-snow training.



      Team Palisades Tahoe and the US Ski & Snowboard Alpine Training System recommend 2-5 sessions per week of skiing or training depending upon the athlete’s number of seasons in sport to date and their goals. We encourage families to ski as it makes sense for your household dynamics and to support the competitive desires of your athlete. There is no “magic” number of training sessions, nor is there a minimum requirement, just a guide based upon development success.

      • Must have completed at least one season in the U10 Race & Freeride Team competing in “Far West" events (or equivalent) and comes with recommendations from a U-System or Development Manager/Head Coach.
      • Fully parallel and fully carving
      • Executes regular proficient pole plant
      • Can one-ski with speed control on both edges (and both legs)
      • Outside ski mastery and can deliberately control inside/outside ski pressure
      • Manipulates turn shape in variety of terrain and conditions
      • Confident in all terrain and conditions
      • Must be able to ski and load/ride chair unaccompanied
      • Must be independent; able to conduct oneself appropriately when unaccompanied
      • Must be able to care for, carry and keep track of all their equipment from the parking lot, through training, and back to the car.
      • Must be able to carry a backpack with boots, lunch, extra layers and equipment required for training day.
      • Responsible and accountable for hydration, nutrition, and proper layering.
      • Complete knowledge of Mountain Safety Policies

      Athletes should participate in 3 to 5 sessions per week on average including training and competition (approx. 95% of the scheduled Friday-Sunday training sessions) to ensure healthy progress.



      Team Palisades Tahoe athletes are encouraged to be multi-sport participants, promoting general athleticism and personal development.

      • Skis: US Ski and Snowboard legal equipment for GS and Slalom; must maintain equipment in good training/competition conditions at all times.
      • Boots: Must be properly fit (size/flex) and in excellent working order.
      • Protection: Hard-eared helmet is required. Slalom shin and pole guards, chin bar required (must be removed for GS); back protector recommended for speed events.
      • Own tuning equipment - recommended: Bench, vices, iron, guides, brushes, files, stones, waxes. Athletes should be participating in tuning with the assistance of parents.
      • Tuning benches are also available for athletes with coach supervision at the Speed Cave at Teams Palisades Tahoe.

      Athletes 10 years or older are not supervised for periods of time and may be required to take breaks, eat lunch, ride and/or load chairs unaccompanied.

      • Athletes are expected to be mentally and physically committed, “fully present” and engaged while in attendance to maintain athletic participation standards. Athletes who do not meet these expectations may be moved to another more appropriate team or removed.

Athletes/Families who believe they are unable to meet this commitment expectation should look at the U16|U18 Divisional Competition program, offering training Fri-Sun and competing exclusively in Far West divisional races.

      Ages 14-15 by December 31st of the winter season

      • 3–5 days/session per week on-site or remotely
      • 2 annual Skills Quest Fitness Tests
      • Mandatory Daily Activation/Warm-Up
      • First Year U16 athletes MUST have graduated from U14 competitive race program OR enter with a US Ski & Snowboard Tech (average Slalom & GS) appropriate ranking.
      • Linked carved turns over sustained period in a variety of terrain and snow conditions.
      • Using proper gate clearing skills for slalom without disrupting carving or turn shape.
      • Lower body movements are independent of upper body.

      U16 | U18 Divisional Competitive Race Teams

      This program is aligned/intended to accept and progress athletes who are not able to commit to full-time training and travel, yet they still train and compete on a weekends/holidays and Fridays within the Far West division of US Ski and Snowboard.



      Athletes who aspire to compete in FIS should be committed to the Palisades U16 Competitive Race or U18 FIS Full-Time team pathway.



      Athletes in the U16|U18 program will train at Palisades or Alpine, Friday through Sunday as communicated by the Head Coach, utilizing the best available training space. Athletes and parents are expected to meet the expectations described below.

      • U16: Ages 14-15 by December 31.
      • U18: Ages 16-18 by December 31.

      Team will focus primarily on gate training.

      • Skill Quest Phase 3: Bronze average or better
      • Links carved turns in a variety of terrain
      • Proper gate clearing skills
      • Refining edge and carving skills
      • Pole plant is innate
      • Variety of turn shape in freeskiing & drill
      • Must be independent; able to conduct oneself appropriately when unaccompanied.
      • Must be able to care for and maintain equipment at all times.
      • Can largely be responsible for tuning equipment with little supervision.
      • Responsible and accountable for hydration, nutrition, and proper layering.
      • Must actively communicate needs including planned absences and injuries, social and academic pressures.

      Athletes are expected to participate in 75% or more of offered full training. Team will train at Alpine or Palisades (not both) daily; one day per weekend at each mountain as conditions permit.

      • Skis: US Ski and Snowboard legal equipment for GS and Slalom or Multi-event ski; must maintain equipment in good training/competition conditions at all times.
      • Boots: Must be properly fit (size/flex) and in excellent working order.
      • Protection: Hard-eared helmet required. Slalom shin and pole guards, chin bar required (must be removed for GS); back protector recommended for speed events.
      • Own tuning equipment: Bench, vices, iron, guides, brushes, files, stones, waxes.

      Athletes 10 years or older are not supervised for periods of time and may be required to take breaks, eat lunch, ride and/or load chairs unaccompanied.

      • Competitions require travel to other mountains (day trips or overnight trips).
      • Any travel outside of the Tahoe Basin must be approved and will be subject to additional fees covering the cost of coach and athlete travel.

      Palisades Tahoe FIS U18 and U21/PG. Athletes must have approval to join by meeting objective competitive criteria (point profile) and the FIS Head Coach, or Team Manager. Athletes must demonstrate the required level of commitment, athletic ability, and psychological maturity to participate in this program. This is a competitive team which requires commitment as measured by quality and quantity of time spent on snow. Athletes/Families who believe they are unable to meet this commitment expectation should look at the U16|U18 Divisional Competition program, offering training Fri-Sun and competing exclusively in Far West divisional races.



      Team Palisades Tahoe FIS programming to support PG athletes U21 in pursuit of their dreams as competitive alpine skiers after high school – and/or later in their careers. The program requires active/continuous commitment year-round to prep period, conditioning, and in-season goals. It will provide an important developmental step between FIS-level racing, collegiate/NCAA, and U.S. National teams. Programming will be managed by FIS Head Coach, U System/Alpine Head Coach, and FIS Manager/Head Coach and FIS Staff.

      Must be U18 or U21 FIS eligible per US Ski & Snowboard Competition Guide - by December 31 of winter season.

      • 5-7 days/sessions per week on-site during on-snow season
      • 3-5 days/sessions per week remotely prep period
      • 2 annual Skills Quest Fitness Tests
      • Mandatory Daily Activation/Warm-Up
      • Program Entry (first year FIS/U18): MUST have graduated from Full-Time U16 Team entering with a US Ski & Snowboard Tech (Slalom or GS) appropriate ranking.
      • 2nd year U18 athletes must have 180 points or better in at least one discipline, or extenuating circumstances (injury or similar) and the approval of Team Manager.
      • FIS PG athletes must have approval from the Team Manager.
      • Must be independent; able to conduct oneself appropriately when unaccompanied
      • Must be able to care for and keep track of all their equipment at all times
      • Must be able to carry a backpack with boots, lunch, extra clothing and equipment required for training day.
      • Responsible and accountable for hydration, nutrition, and proper layering.
      • Can largely be responsible for tuning equipment with little supervision
      • Must actively communicate needs including absences, injuries, social and academic pressures

      • Athletes are required to be current US Ski & Snowboard “Competitor” members in the Far West Division and appropriate FIS license/membership.
      • Annual USSS/FW membership dues are not included in Team registration fees and are the responsibility of the parent/guardian to maintain.
      • Athletes will compete in FIS regional, national, and international competitions when qualified/selected.
      • Competition entries/registration are the responsibility of the competing athlete at the guidance of the Team Manager/Head Coach.
      • Competitions require travel to other mountains (day trips or overnight trips).
      • Any travel outside of the Tahoe Basin must be approved and will be subject to additional fees covering the cost of coach and athlete travel.
      • Athletes are responsible for the cost of coach and athlete travel and will be billed accordingly on a per trip/per project basis.

    • U12 | U15 | U21 Competitive Freeride Ski Teams

      Freeride Comp Team is available to top-level junior Freeride (aka Big Mountain) skiers ages 12 to 21 who’ve met all skill and maturity assessment marks and only with Head Coach approval. The team is intended for top level junior skiers who can commit to full attendance, pre-season and in-season training schedule, will train and ski hard, have fun, and plan to compete at the regional or national level.



      This group is designed to build strengths in off-piste, aerials, light competition and overall confidence around the entire mountain.



      U12 Team: This group will attend two U12 events in Far West region under IFSA and Tahoe Freeride, and trains based upon the best possible terrain for the curriculum at Alpine or Palisades.



      U15/U21 Team: These top athletes possess elite skiing skills, must exhibit an aptitude towards Freeride skiing, an understanding of the freeride environment and the ability to assess and discuss ski lines, hazards, and other factors related to safe skiing in extreme, challenging terrain. Comp Team athletes will compete regionally in the Tahoe Jr. Freeride series and nationally in the IFSA Series.



      These full-time teams, in addition to all weekends and holidays as defined in the schedule, will train in-season on Wednesday and Thursday afternoons and all day on Fridays.



      All Comp Team members will have the benefit of pre-season dryland training, Woodward training, other training opportunities like goal-setting workshops and mental training workshops, and additional days of inspection/skiing on days preceding scheduled competitions throughout the season.

      • U12: Ages 10-11 by December 31.
      • U15|U21: Ages 12-21 by December 31.
      • 70-90% coached and directed freeriding
      • 10-30% coached drills and exercises


      Team Palisades Tahoe recommends 3-5 sessions per week of skiing/riding or training depending upon the athlete’s age, number of seasons in sport to date and their goals. We encourage athletes to ski/ride as it makes sense for your household dynamics and to support the competitive desires of your athlete. There is no “magic” number of training sessions, nor is there a minimum requirement, just a guide based upon development success and competitive objectives.

      U12 Team

      • Must be an advanced to expert skier
      • Must have approval from Freeride Department or Freeride Comp Manager
      • Must be fully parallel
      • Must be able to ski all terrain with confidence on and off-piste
      • Should have completed one season in the U10 Race & Freeride Team and must have Team recommendation/approval


      U15/U21 Team

      • Expert
      • Confident on all terrain on and off-piste
      • Must possess elite skiing skills for age group
      • Must be able to load/unload and ride the chair unaccompanied (may ride chair without an adult)
      • Must participate independently without direct adult supervision for short periods
      • Able to conduct oneself appropriately when unaccompanied
      • Must be able to participate in a full day of training without parent interaction

      Athletes should aim to attend 66-75% (75% for U15/U21 athletes) of the scheduled training sessions to ensure steady progress and a successful season.

      • Skis:
        • U12 Team: All mountain or park skis – no race skis; regularly tuned
        • U15/U21: At least one pair of all mountain skis, regularly tuned
      • Boots: Must be properly fit (size/flex) ideally by a professional boot fitter and in excellent working order
      • Protection: Helmet (hard-eared or soft-eared) - back protector and mouth guards are recommended

      Athletes 10 years or older are not supervised for periods of time and may be required to take breaks, eat lunch, ride and/or load chairs unaccompanied.

      • Competition entries/registration are the responsibility of the competing athlete at the guidance of the Team Manager/Head Coach.


      U15 Team

      • TJFS/IFSA competition based – for athletes who intend to compete with regularity

      • 2* and 3* IFSA full-time competition based


      U21 Team Comp Teams

      • Programming for Adult tour athletes is primarily IFSA 4-star events (few exceptions) as a pathway to the Freeride World Tour (FWT)


      • Athlete’s families and adult athletes are responsible for any membership and competition fees.
      • Competitions might require travel to other mountains (day trips or overnight trips).
      • Team Travel: Athlete Families are responsible for one share of coach and athlete costs divided over all Team travel participants

      U12 | U15 | U21 Competitive Freeride Snowboard Teams

      The Snowboard Comp Team program is designed to help our athletes develop strong Freeride skills, learn to be part of a team, and build passion for snowboarding. Coaches focus on progressive skill acquisition/development, knowledge of the snowboarder’s responsibility code and safe riding, respect for the mountain, and Freeride competition. This group competes in IFSA and Tahoe Freeride Events. This group has performance training developed by the US Ski & Snowboard association and works on aerial awareness on snow as well as on roller ramps and trampolines.

      • U12: Ages 10-11 by December 31.

      • Board: At least 1 board in good, well-tuned condition. We frequently use larger and stiffer boards designed for powder and varying conditions.
      • Boots: Must be properly fit (size/flex) and in excellent working order
      • Protection: Helmet required; back protector and mouth guard are recommended.

      Athletes 10 years or older are not supervised for periods of time and may be required to take breaks, eat lunch, ride and/or load chairs unaccompanied.

      This program is for those athletes who want to improve both park, pipe, and general riding abilities in a competitive atmosphere.



      This program will include weekly Woodward training to safely learn aerial skills on trampoline and ramp. On snow we work on all-mountain skiing and riding to develop strong, competitive athletes.



      In this program, athletes are given the opportunity to reach their own goals including striving for the NORAM events, Rev Tour events, USASA events, national championships, and the US Team.

      • Must be able to participate in a full day of training without parent interaction

      Athletes should aim to attend 75% of the scheduled training sessions to ensure steady progress and a successful season.

      • Skis/Boards: At least 1 pair of Park skis and/or board in good condition. Ideally 1 other for pipe specific training that is not used on rails.
      • Boots: Must be properly fit (size/flex) and in excellent working order
      • Protection: Helmet required; back protector and mouth guard are recommended.

      Athletes 10 years or older are not supervised for periods of time and may be required to take breaks, eat lunch, ride and/or load chairs unaccompanied.

      • Athletes compete in Slopestyle, Rail Jam, and Half Pipe.
