Town Race League 2026

Join us for the Palisades Tahoe Town Race League, where local racers of all levels come together to compete in a series of exciting alpine races. This community competition is perfect for skiers and snowboarders looking to challenge themselves and showcase their skills. This series will continue every Wednesday from March 4 through April 8 with a new theme each week. Each week we will pick the best dressed racer to win a prize!

*For the upcoming Town Race League events, racing has moved to the NASTAR course and will run from 1:00 PM–3:30 PM. Check-in for wristbands and bib numbers will take place at the Palisades Ticket Office from 12:30 PM–2:30 PM.*

Dates & Themes (All Wednesdays)

Registration
  • $25 per race
  • Capacity limited to 150 participants
  • Online registration closes the day before each race
  • Day-of registration available at the Ticket Office
  • Register for 4 races and receive a piece of logoed swag
  • If a race is canceled due to weather, all registrants will receive a batch refund
  • Must be 18+ years old to participate
  • No racing experience or specialized gear required to participate besides helmets; Helmets are required and a second line of defense. Make sure it is properly fitted and the chin strap is fastened

Team Registration
To register as a team, please submit your roster to townleague@palisadestahoe.com.

  • Team fee: $750 (equivalent to 5 races for 6 members)
  • No weekly team registrations

Team Format
  • Teams consist of 6 total members
  • Each team must include at least one female racer
  • Team captain handles registration and communication
  • Roster must include ROLs (Release of Liability forms)
  • Bib numbers are assigned to teams and remain the same all season
  • No requirement for a snowboarder specifically

Team Scoring
  • Team score = top three individual point results from that team
  • At least one of the three results must be from a female racer
  • Awards presented to the top three teams at the end of the series
  • Best four out of six races count toward final season rankings
  • The two lowest scores are dropped for both individuals and teams
  • Weekly scoring will be posted on the website

Categories

Snowboard:
  • Pro Snowboard - for experienced racers and serious competitors
  • Amateur Snowboard - for riders racing for fun or with minimal experience

Skier:
  • Pro Skier - for experienced racers and serious competitors
  • Amateur Skier - for skiers racing for fun or with minimal experience

Town Race League Format
  • Best time out of two runs will be counted
  • Individual competition format
  • Racers select their class during registration
  • Bib numbers assigned weekly

Scoring
Points follow the World Cup point schedule. The best of two runs is used to determine your score.

Point Breakdown:
1st - 50 points
2nd - 45 points
3rd - 40 points
4th - 38 points
5th - 36 points
6th - 34 points
7th - 32 points
8th - 30 points
9th - 29 points

Remaining racers descend by one-point increments.
