Naturalist Walks at High Camp
Take a guided walk to learn about plants, animals, and geology.
Explore the High Camp Meadow with one of our Naturalists
Step into a high-alpine world at 8,200 feet with our guided Naturalist Walks—an experience that blends mountain adventure with meaningful discovery. Set against the rugged beauty of Palisades upper mountain, these walks invite you to connect with the landscape in a whole new way. Led by knowledgeable naturalists, each outing reveals a story of the Sierra Nevada: its geology, seasonal wildflowers, wildlife, and the cultural significance woven into this iconic terrain.
Whether you're captivated by panoramic ridgelines or curious about the forces that shaped this alpine environment, each walk offers an authentic and inspiring experience. Perfect for guests of all ages who want to slow down, look closer, and gain a deeper appreciation for the mountain.
Naturalist Walks are free to join; simply make your way to High Camp by riding the Aerial Tram or hiking to the upper mountain. These experiences also pair well with Washoe Cultural Talks, offered on select dates throughout the summer season.
