    What Are Progression Sessions?

Progression Sessions is a community built for experienced snowboarders who share one truth: there are no plateaus. Each event pairs skill-based goals with real-world adventure—from off-piste workshops designed to access the whole mountain to freestyle sessions built for safe, focused progression in the park. It’s a roadmap for movement supported by friendship and fun.

    Off-Piste Workshop: Into the Wild

This workshop is all about getting off the groomed and into the wild—going beyond how to turn and focusing on the tactics that’ll keep you safe and having fun in dynamic terrain. We’ll spend two full days exploring wooded gullies, open bowls, and “hike to” opportunities at Palisades Tahoe. In this workshop, you’ll learn how to safely navigate trees, manage moguls, ride steep terrain, identify danger zones, and explore hidden powder stashes.

If you’re looking to explore more of your favorite resorts with confidence, this workshop is a must. It’s also a great choice before joining one of our off-piste tours in Utah, Chile, or Japan. Groups are built based on each rider’s ability, pairing participants with riders of similar skill, so regardless of your experience, you’ll be in a group designed to match your pace.

This workshop is designed for intermediate to advanced snowboarders who can safely link turns on black groomed terrain. The minimum participation is 4 people to operate; if the minimum is not met within 14 days of the start date, you’ll receive a full refund.

AASI Certified Instructors receive an additional discount—please inquire for details.

    Thursday, Exploring the Unknown

Meet at the Alpine Meadows Lodge at 8:30 AM.
After a few warm-up laps, we’ll split into small groups and start exploring. We’ll begin by learning how to ride as a group, utilizing the buddy system to ensure everyone’s safety as we venture deeper into the terrain. We’ll spend the rest of the day exploring moguls, trees, steeps, and other natural features—taking time to build confidence and refine technique in each environment.

    Friday, Terrain Assessment and Flow

Meet at the lodge at 8:30 AM.
This day focuses on terrain management and planning. We’ll learn how to assess the mountain before dropping in, identify exit routes, and make a plan for safe navigation. Once we understand the terrain and choose our preferred routes, we’ll be flowing through the mountain like champions.
