Join us for a one-of-a-kind, on-the-mountain experience with scientists from the UC Davis Tahoe Environmental Research Center. Ski or ride alongside researchers as they bring Tahoe’s landscapes to life, sharing stories of forests, lakes, snowpack, and cutting-edge environmental research all while exploring Alpine’s terrain.
Featured Topic: Navigating through Wintery Tahoe Waters
The TERC research vessel is out on the lake year-round, and while that may sound fun, winter field days can be a little rough. Learn how the team navigates, dives, and samples during the heart of the freezing season. Boat Captain Mike Cane will walk participants through the process of monitoring Lake Tahoe’s water quality, from zooplankton sampling to clarity measurements.
