Achieve Tahoe is a nonprofit organization that provides adaptive sports and outdoor recreation programs for children and adults with disabilities, helping participants build health, confidence, and independence through outdoor adventure. Founded in 1967 at Alpine Meadows Ski Resort, Achieve Tahoe is one of the longest-running adaptive recreation programs in the United States and the founding chapter of Move United, a nationwide network of more than 200 community-based adaptive sports organizations. Achieve Tahoe serves individuals with a wide range of disabilities, including spinal cord injuries, amputations, cerebral palsy, autism, traumatic brain injuries, and visual impairments. The organization offers affordable year-round programs in activities such as skiing, snowboarding, climbing, paddling, and hiking. Every program is designed to remove barriers to participation and includes lift tickets or access to recreation areas, specialized adaptive equipment, and private instruction from trained instructors and volunteers. Through these personalized experiences, Achieve Tahoe empowers participants to challenge themselves, build independence, and discover the joy of outdoor recreation.
