OUR BEST LESSON OPTION FOR SIBLINGS
Your child will quickly build skills and gain confidence in a Private Lesson. You can book for a maximum of 5 children ages 3-13 only in this three-hour Half-Day or Full-Day Private Lesson. Children in the same private lesson must be of similar ability levels. The lesson will move at the slowest participant’s pace.

- Start at either Alpine Lodge or The Village at Palisades Tahoe
- Lift ticket & equipment rentals are required but no included.

Check-in will be done outdoors and only one parent/guardian can accompany the child.
Palisades Meeting Location
Come to the Palisades Tahoe Kids Ski & Snowboard School building. This building is between Red Wolf Lodge and the Members' Locker Room. Signage will help you get there, and you can also look for the building with the bell tower.View on Google Maps. The Palisades Tahoe Kids Ski and Snowboard building in The Village at Palisades Tahoe is pedestrian-friendly by restricting vehicle access to only those who need accessible access. There is no drop-off area directly in front of the building. We recommend parking in one of our lots and walking over to the building.

Come to the Kids Ski & Snowboard School in the bottom of the Alpine Lodge in the town of Alpine Meadows. Signage will help you get there. View on Google Maps. For Kids Ski & Snowboard School in the Alpine Lodge, you are welcome to park temporarily in the drop-off area just below the Alpine Lodge while checking in.

Can I reserve my private lesson ahead of time?
Absolutely. Reservations at least 2 days in advance are required for any lessons during the 2021-2022 winter season. Day before or day of reservations will be very limited and are not guaranteed. Book online or call us at 800-403-0206.
How many Kids can take a private lesson at once?
Our Half-Day and Full Day Private lessons can accommodate up to 5 participants of the same ability level. Private lesson groups larger than the ratios listed above are required to hire an additional instructor.
Can a private lesson instructor teach any ability level?
Yes, however, if there are multiple people skiing/riding together in one lesson the instructor will choose the terrain that is best suited to needs of the least experienced guest. When booking your private lesson the more you can tell us about what you want to do the better we will be able to pair you with the right instructor.
Can both snowboarders and skiers attend the same private lesson?
This is not recommended and is only doable in privates if both disciplines are intermediate. It is very difficult for an instructor to teach snowboarding while wearing skis, and vice versa. If a group of mixed disciplines would like to ride together in a private lesson we suggest hiring an instructor for each.
What should I wear?
We recommend guests wear waterproof pants, helmet, gloves, and jacket, as well as a warm hat, goggles, and tall socks. Weather can change quickly and is often very different from the village to the upper mountain, so we suggest guests dress in layers so they can adjust to changing conditions. Sunscreen and lip balm are also necessary to protect your skin from sun and wind burn.
My instructor was great and I would like to show my appreciation! Is it appropriate to tip my instructor?
Gratuities are not expected but are always appreciated.
How do I cancel my booking?
Please use the Palisades Tahoe Lessons cancellation form to submit for your cancelation. Please do not call or email to cancel your booking. Lessons, clinics, and guides are fully refundable until 3 pm 2 days prior to your lesson. Group Lessons and daily Clinics that are canceled after 3 pm 2 days prior to your lesson will incur a $50 cancellation fee. Private Lessons and Guides that are canceled after 3 pm 2 days prior to your lesson will incur a $100 cancellation fee. Same day cancellations or no-shows are non-refundable. 3-Day Camps are fully refundable until 3 pm 7 days prior to start of Camp. Cancellations made within 7 days of the Camp start date are non-refundable.
