Official Rules
NO PURCHASE OR PAYMENT OF ANY KIND IS NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN THIS CONTEST. A PURCHASE OR PAYMENT WILL NOT INCREASE OR IMPROVE YOUR CHANCES OF WINNING.
1.SPONSOR. The “Take the Safety Quiz for a Chance to Win a Local Pass Contest 2025” (the “Contest”) is sponsored by Palisades Tahoe Ski Holdings, LLC (“Sponsor”) and the address at which the Sponsor may be contacted is Palisades Tahoe Ski Holdings, LLC, P.O. Box 2007, c/o 1901 Chamonix Place, Olympic Valley, CA 96146. Neither Facebook nor Instagram, are sponsors or administrators of the Contest, the Contest is in no way endorsed by either of them, and neither shall have any responsibility or liability with respect to the Contest.
2.ELIGIBILITY. The Contest is only open to entrants who, as of the entry date, are permanent legal residents of the United States (excluding Florida, New York and Rhode Island) or the District of Columbia, who are at least eighteen (18) years of age or older and who have reached the age of majority in the state in which they reside. The Contest is void outside the United States and the District of Columbia and where prohibited or restricted by law (including in Florida, New York and Rhode Island). Employees, officers and directors of Sponsor, Palisades Tahoe Resort, LLC, Alterra Mountain Company, and each of their respective parents, subsidiaries, affiliates, divisions, advertising and promotion agencies, and the immediate families (defined as parents, spouses, children, siblings, grandparents, and their respective spouses) or members of the same household (whether related or not) of each such employee, officer and director, and are not eligible to enter or participate. The Contest is subject to all applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations. The Contest, and any website pages and advertisements relating thereto, is intended for viewing only within the United States and the District of Columbia, and entrants must be present in the United States or District of Columbia at the time they enter.
3.MONTHLY ENTRY PERIODS. There will be four (4) monthly entry periods for the Contest as follows: (i) Month One Entry Period: Monday, December 1, 2025 from 9:00a.m. Pacific Time (“PT”) through Wednesday, December 31, 2025 at 11:59p.m. PT; (ii) Month Two Entry Period: Thursday, January 1, 2026 from 9:00 a.m. PT through Saturday, January 31, 2026 at 11:59p.m. PT; (iii) Month Three Entry Period: Sunday, February 1, 2026 from 9:00 a.m. PT through Saturday, February 28, 2026 at 11:59p.m. PT; and (iv) Month Four Entry Period: Sunday, March 1, 2026 from 9:00 a.m. PT through Tuesday, March 31, 2026 at 11:59p.m. PT (each individually a “Monthly Entry Period” and collectively, the “Entry Periods”). Sponsor’s computer is the official timekeeper for the Contest. Entries received other than during the Entry Periods, and duplicate entries, will be determined ineligible and will be discarded.
4.HOW TO ENTER. There is one (1) way to enter the Contest, which is online: During a Monthly Entry Period, (i) go to the Contest website located at https://www.palisadestahoe.com/safety-quiz (the “Contest Website”), (ii) completely fill out the online entry form and provide the required information including your full name and email address, (iii) click the link to watch the Triangle of Safety Video (located at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PkVbOQU83hU&t=43s) (the “Safety Video”), and (iv) submit the entry form in accordance with the on-screen instructions. As part of the entry form, you will be required to complete a quiz designed to test your knowledge of the Safety Video (the “Quiz Questions”). ONLY ENTRANTS WHO CORRECTLY ANSWER 100% OF THE QUIZ QUESTIONS WILL BE ENTERED INTO THE DRAWING FOR THE PRIZE. ELIGIBLE ENTRANTS MUST ENTER IN ACCORDANCE WITH THESE OFFICIAL RULES. NO OTHER METHOD OF ENTRY WILL BE ACCEPTED. LIMIT: one (1) entry per person and per email address in the Contest.
All entries must be received by Sponsor during the Entry Periods. Any attempt by any participant to obtain additional entries beyond the limit by using multiple/different email addresses, identities, registrations and logins, or any other methods will void that entrant’s entries and that entrant may be disqualified. Submitting mass entries or entries generated by a script, macro or use of automated devices is prohibited and will result in disqualification. Sponsor is not responsible for lost, late, incomplete, invalid, void, unintelligible, or misdirected entries, which will be disqualified. Multiple participants are not permitted to share the same email address. In the event of a dispute as to an entrant’s entry, the natural person who is the authorized account holder of the email address identified with the participant’s entry will be deemed to be the entrant, but only if that person is otherwise eligible to enter the Contest. The “authorized account holder” is the natural person assigned to an email address by an Internet service provider, online service provider, or other organization responsible for assigning email addresses for the domain associated with the submitted email address. Each potential winner may be required to show proof of being the authorized account holder. If a dispute cannot be resolved to Sponsor’s satisfaction, the winning entrant may be deemed ineligible. All entries become the exclusive property of Sponsor and none will be acknowledged or returned. Proof of submission will not be deemed proof of receipt of entry by Sponsor. All entrants and entries are subject to verification prior to the awarding of a prize, as are the eligibility, age and other claims of information provided by a potential prize winner. Sponsor reserves the right to conduct a background check on any or all entrants, and Sponsor reserves the right to disqualify any individual based on such background check if Sponsor determines in its sole discretion that awarding a prize to any such individual might reflect negatively on Sponsor. Entrants will cooperate with Sponsor and its representatives in connection with any and all verification and background check activities, including, without limitation, by executing and delivering to Sponsor by the time indicated by Sponsor any verification and background check authorization forms required by Sponsor.
5.AGREEMENT TO OFFICIAL RULES AND DECISIONS. The Contest will be run in accordance with these Official Rules, subject to amendment by Sponsor (the “Official Rules”). By participating in the Contest, each entrant fully and unconditionally agrees to be bound by and accepts these Official Rules and the decisions of Sponsor (including, without limitation, decisions regarding eligibility of entries, the selection of entrants and the winners, and the awarding of the prizes), which are final and binding in all respects.
6.MONTHLY PRIZE DRAWINGS; ODDS; NOTIFICATION.
a.Monthly Prize Drawings; Odds. There will be four (4) monthly prize drawings in the Contest, one for each Monthly Entry Period (each, a “Monthly Prize Drawing”). On or about January 1, 2026 (Month One Prize Drawing); February 1, 2026 (Month Two Prize Drawing); March 1, 2026 (Month Three Prize Drawing); and April 1, 2026 (Month Four Prize Drawing), Sponsor will randomly select one (1) entrant from all eligible entries received by Sponsor during the applicable Monthly Entry Period. Each Monthly Prize Drawing will be conducted under Sponsor’s supervision at Sponsor’s offices located in Olympic Valley, California. Odds of winning a prize depend on the number of eligible entries received by Sponsor in the Contest during the applicable Monthly Entry Period.
b.Notification. Each potential winner must comply with all terms and conditions of these Official Rules and winning is contingent upon fulfilling all requirements. Each potential winner will be notified by email. In order to claim their prize, each potential winner will be required to execute and return to Sponsor a signed Affidavit of Eligibility, a Liability Release and, except where prohibited by law, a Publicity Release (an “Affidavit/Release”), and any other form(s) required by Sponsor, all in the form(s) provided by Sponsor. The Affidavit/Release and any other forms must be returned to Sponsor by the date and/or time indicated within the Affidavit/Release. If a potential winner cannot be contacted within seventy-two (72) hours of the first attempt to contact him/her, or if a potential winner fails to return the Affidavit/Release or other forms within the specified time, or if a potential winner or his/her entry is found to be ineligible, or if a potential winner does not comply with the Official Rules, then such potential winner may be disqualified and an alternate potential winner selected by Sponsor in his/her place at random from among all eligible non-winning entries received by Sponsor during the applicable Monthly Entry Period. In such event, an alternate potential winner will be notified by Sponsor as described above and will be required to return the required documents to Sponsor as described above; however, Sponsor, in its sole discretion, may adjust the above process, timing and delivery requirements to accommodate Sponsor’s Contest schedule, and due to such process, schedule and timing, Sponsor may be unable to award the applicable prize and a potential alternate winner may not be named. Sponsor is not responsible for the failure of a potential winner to receive Sponsor’s notification or the required documents for any reason, or for the inability of such potential winner to return the required documents for any reason. Each winner agrees that he/she will not conduct or participate in any media interview regarding this Contest or any prize without the express prior written permission of Sponsor.
7.PRIZES. Subject to the terms and conditions of these Official Rules, four (4) prizes will be awarded in this Contest (one for each Monthly Entry Period).
Each Monthly Prize consists of and is limited to: one (1) 2026/2027 Palisades Tahoe Local Pass (valid at Palisades Tahoe and Alpine only) (subject to the terms, conditions and restrictions thereof) (each, a “Monthly Prize”, and collectively, the “Prizes”. The Approximate Retail Value (“ARV”) of each Monthly Prize is USD$1,700. LIMIT: One (1) Monthly Prize per person or household.
Should a potential winner of a Monthly Prize be the holder of a current 2026/2027 Palisades Tahoe Local Pass, then winner will receive a full refund (in the currency paid) of its current pass and such pass will be replaced by the Monthly Prize.
The total ARV of all Prizes to be awarded in this Contest is USD$6,800.
Prizes must be accepted as awarded. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, prize is awarded “AS IS” with no warranty, condition, representation, or guarantee, express or implied, in fact or in law, made by Sponsor or for which Sponsor shall be liable, including, without limitation, ANY IMPLIED WARRANTIES OR CONDITIONS OF MERCHANTABILITY, NON-INFRINGEMENT OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE AND WINNER ASSUMES ANY AND ALL RISKS OF USING THE PRIZE, INCLUDING PERSONAL INJURY OR DEATH. No prize substitutions, except by Sponsor, who reserves the right (but has no obligation) to substitute the prize (or a component thereof) with another prize of comparable or greater value (including cash) if the prize (or a component thereof) is not available for any reason as determined by Sponsor in its sole discretion. Unused components of the prize shall be forfeited and have no redeemable cash value. Winner is solely and fully responsible for any and all costs, fees, taxes, assessments and expenses associated with prize award, redemption, receipt and use not specified in the prize description above, including, without limitation, all federal, state and local taxes on the prize. If applicable, winner will be issued an IRS Form 1099 for the actual retail value of the prize. Winner waives the right to assert as a cost of winning the prize any and all costs of verification and redemption or travel to redeem the prize. Non-compliance with any of the foregoing and any other condition of this Contest may result in disqualification and forfeiture of the prize, in which case, no consideration will be awarded.
8.PUBLICITY: Except where prohibited by law, acceptance of a prize constitutes a winner’s consent to Sponsor’s (and its successors’ and assigns’) use of a winner’s name, biography, likeness, voice, photographs, video, opinions, statements, hometown, state, and country for promotional purposes in any manner or media (including, without limitation, online), worldwide, in perpetuity, and without further payment, consideration, notice, review or consent.
9.RELEASE. By participating in the Contest, each entrant forever and irrevocably RELEASES, DISCHARGES, INDEMNIFIES AND HOLDS HARMLESS, Sponsor, Palisades Tahoe Resort, LLC, Alterra Mountain Company, Instagram, Facebook, and each of their parents, subsidiaries and affiliates, and their respective agents, advertising and promotion agencies, affiliates, and all of their respective employees, officers, directors, shareholders and agents (collectively, the “Released Parties”) from and against all losses, claims, damages, liabilities, costs or expenses (collectively, “Losses”), arising in whole or in part, directly or indirectly, from entrant’s entry and/or participation in the Contest and/or entrant’s award, receipt or use of any prize awarded in the Contest (including, without limitation, by participating in any activities at Palisades Tahoe Resort). The foregoing release includes, without limitation, any and all LIABILITY, BODILY INJURY, DEATH, LOSS OR DAMAGE to entrant or any third party arising in whole or in part, directly or indirectly, from any prize or the use of any prize, the award, acceptance, possession, use or misuse of any prize (including, without limitation, by participating in any activities at Palisades Tahoe Resort), and entry and participation in the Contest including, but not limited to, on account of negligence of Sponsor and/or resort personnel, employees or volunteers. Each entrant further COVENANTS NOT TO SUE any of the Releasees with respect to any matter addressed by the foregoing release, or encourage or assist any third party in doing so. This is a complete RELEASE and DISCHARGE of all claims and rights of each entrant against the Releasees and no action will be taken by or on behalf of an entrant with respect to any such claims and rights, it being understood that these Official Rules, including this Rule 9, shall be binding upon each entrant, and his/her successors, assignees, subrogors, insurers, heirs, next of kin, executors, representatives, and legal and personal representatives.
10.LIMITATIONS OF LIABILITY: The Released Parties are not responsible for: (a) technical failures of any kind, including but not limited to the malfunction of any telephone network or lines, computer online systems, servers, access providers, computer equipment, software, failure of any e-mail entry to be received by Sponsor on account of technical problems or traffic congestion on the Internet or any website, or any combination thereof, including any injury or damage to an entrant’s or any other person’s computer, related to or resulting from playing or downloading materials in this promotion including the recording of game results; (b) any incomplete or inaccurate information, whether caused by the website users or by any equipment of programming associated with or utilized in the Contest, or by any technical or human error which may occur in the processing of entries; (c) the theft, destruction or unauthorized access to, or alteration of, entries or the website; or (d) any injury or damage to persons or property, including but not limited to entrant’s computer, which may be caused, directly or indirectly, in whole or in part, from entrant’s participation in the Contest or receipt or use of any prize, or from viewing, playing or downloading any material from Sponsor’s website(s), regardless of whether the material was prepared by Sponsor or a third party, and regardless of whether the material is connected to Sponsor’s websites by a hypertext link. Sponsor reserve the right, in their sole discretion, to cancel, modify or suspend the Contest should a virus or bug or other cause beyond the reasonable control of Sponsor or their agents corrupt the security or proper administration of the Contest. Any attempt to deliberately damage any website or to undermine the legitimate operation of this promotion is a violation of criminal and civil laws, and should such an attempt be made, Sponsor reserves the right to seek remedies and damages to the fullest extent permitted by law, including criminal prosecution. Sponsor reserves the right to forbid the framing of any of the contents of this site and, in their sole discretion, to disqualify any individual who tampers with the entry process.
11.DISPUTES: Entrant agrees that, except to the extent prohibited by law: (a) any and all disputes, claims, and causes of action arising out of or connected with this Contest or any prizes awarded shall be resolved individually, without resort to any form of class action, and solely and exclusively in the State of California; entrant submits to sole and exclusive personal jurisdiction to said courts in the Placer County, California for any such dispute and irrevocably waives any and all rights to object to such jurisdiction; (b) any and all claims, judgments, and awards shall be limited to actual out-of-pocket costs incurred in connection with entering this Contest but in no event legal or attorneys’ fees; and (c) under no circumstances will entrant be permitted to obtain awards for and entrant hereby waives all rights to claim punitive, incidental and consequential damages and any other damages, other than for actual out-of-pocket costs, and any and all rights to have damages multiplied or otherwise increased. SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW THE LIMITATION OR EXCLUSION OF LIABILITY FOR INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES, SO THE ABOVE MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU. All issues and questions concerning the construction, validity, interpretation and enforceability of these Official Rules, or the rights and obligations of entrant or Sponsor in connection with the Contest shall be governed by, and construed in accordance with, the laws of the State of California and the Federal laws of the United States, without giving effect to any choice of law or conflict of law rules or provisions, which would cause the application of the laws of any jurisdiction other than the State of California.
12.PRIVACY/DATA COLLECTION. By entering the Contest, entrants consent to the collection, use and disclosure of their personal information solely for the purposes of administering the Contest, in accordance with applicable law. Sponsor may share your personal information with third parties who need access to this information to perform services on Sponsor’s behalf, in accordance with applicable law. For more information about the ways Sponsor uses and shares personal information collected online through its website, please see the Privacy Policy of Sponsor located at https://www.alterramtnco.com/privacy-policy/.
13.OFFICIAL RULES. These Official Rules are available at https://www.palisadestahoe.com/safety-quiz or by sending a self-addressed postage-stamped envelope to Palisades Tahoe Ski Holdings, LLC, P.O. 14.WINNERS’ LIST.
