Meet Johnny Collinson The night after skier Johnny Collinson summited Everest (on his way to becoming the youngest person to climb the Seven Summits at age 17) he barely slept, choosing instead to help a sick climber recover. Raised in the mountains and nicknamed the “white Sherpa” for his high-altitude ability, Johnny grew up adventuring with his family out of a ’79 Ford Econoline van, summiting peaks like Rainier, Shasta, and Whitney before age six. Today, he’s one of the most progressive and versatile big-mountain skiers in the world, equally known for sending huge lines with precision and blending freestyle progression into big-mountain terrain.
About Johnny Johnny’s accomplishments span both mountaineering and skiing. In addition to completing the Seven Summits at 17 he won the 2010 Junior Freeskiing Tour overall title and has stood on podiums at major Freeskiing World Tour and Red Bull big-mountain events. His film appearances include standout segments with TGR, Sweetgrass Productions, Faction, and Sherpas Cinema. Despite injuries over the years, Johnny’s relentless work ethic, training, and grit have kept him at the forefront of the sport. Known for his unmistakable style, humor, moto-leather aesthetic, and unshakeable dedication, Johnny remains one of skiing’s most recognizable and dynamic athletes.
