The legendary Rahlves Banzai Tour makes its long-awaited return to Palisades Tahoe in April 2026. Created by U.S. ski icon and Red Bull athlete Daron Rahlves, this adrenaline-charged event combines big mountain freeride terrain with the head-to-head intensity of ski and snowboard cross. This race promises high-speed, no-holds-barred action as athletes charge down in 4 person heats over natural terrain features in a battle to the finish. To compete, you must be at least 18 years old and register online here (link to product). We are offering a Race Day lift ticket at $85 which you can purchase on our website. Men & Women Ski and Snowboard divisions. Helmets are required. No race speed suits allowed.

Format
- One qualifying timed run (1 competitor at a time, 1-minute interval)
- Brackets built from qualifying results
- Top 32 Men and Top 16 Women advance to heats
- Heats consist of 4 competitors
- Gate pick determined by fastest qualifying time (in order)
- 1st pick – Red
- 2nd pick – Green
- 3rd pick – Blue
- 4th pick – Yellow
- Start gate is a traditional Ski/Snowboard Cross drop gate
- Course includes triangle panel (inside turn) and GS gate panel (outside)
- Course will be set with a triangle panel on the inside turn and an outside GS gate panel. Competitors must pass through the invisible plane of both panels with both feet passing on the outside of the triangle panel stubby, the turn gate.
- Top 2 competitors in each heat advance to the next round
- Rounds: 32 → 16 → 8 → Small Final → Big Final
Grounds for Disqualification
- Skipping gates
- Missing a gate- One or both feet of the competitor don't clearly pass through the outside of stubby going through the triangle panel or airing over the invisible vertical plane of stubby.
- Overly aggressive moves on another competitor that alters the course or slows the other competitor down with physical force like grabbing a body part or clothing
- Note: Leaning into another competitor is fair play as long as there is no malicious or blatant change of line direction out of the natural flow.
