Commons Beach

Tahoe Joy Festival is a free, single-day benefit music festival at Commons Beach in Tahoe City. Created by Tahoe native Matt Axton and inspired by his father Hoyt Axton’s iconic hit “Joy to the World,” the festival celebrates music, art, connection, and community.

Presented by the Joy Foundation, the 2026 festival benefits the Tahoe Truckee School of Music and helps keep live music accessible for the North Lake Tahoe community.

Free Transportation from Olympic Valley & West Shore

Free shuttle service will operate throughout the day between Olympic Valley, West Shore neighborhoods, and the Tahoe City Transit Center.

Skip the congestion, park for free at Palisades Tahoe, and enjoy a more relaxed way to get to and from Tahoe City.

Important Notes

  • Shuttle times are approximate and subject to traffic and road conditions.
  • Seating is first come, first served.
  • Please arrive at shuttle stops early during peak event hours.
  • Tahoe Joy Festival is free to attend, but registration is encouraged.
